Our book is for anyone who believes that it is possible to change the world around us for the better and it can be done from the bottom up by taking small or big steps in cooperation with others, and that it is possible to start with your own courtyard or street, from a bench you will install or a joint event you will organize.

Rather than describing traditional local citizen associations, we will focus on informal emerging initiatives that often evolve quickly and spontaneously and come from the need to change the social or physical space around us. We think such initiatives are becoming more and more numerous and they have major potential if their “childhood difficulties” can be overcome.
If you want to start working with a community and you do not know how to do that, or if you are already doing something and you just need advice, this book is for you. We wrote it in an effort to help you start making things happen. Here, you can find important information as well as inspiration.
